Due to ongoing growth in APAC they require an experienced integration engineer to aid in the deployment and subsequent support of evolving software applications. The Integration team is responsible for a wide range of activities to provide fluidity and performance efficiency between the Traders and the Development Team. Their primary objective is to deploy and integrate trading systems, risk management tools and connectivity solutions mostly created in-house, but with some off the shelf products (ORC, Bloomberg, Reuters etc). The team is also responsible for supporting the finance applications for more technical issues (Linux, MYSQL, Bash and Python Shell Scripting) providing front line support to traders whilst liaising with external parties (inc brokers, security exchanges and software vendors). This role offers the opportunity to operate with a relative amount of autonomy whilst working as part of the Asia Pacific team contributing to wider global applications. They are involved in many parts of the software development life cycle, from indentifying requirements, software testing, pure integration and then further performance tuning of high volume, low latency systems. To be successful in this role you will be able to draw upon your strong technical knowledge and experience of trading systems, financial products and business process flows within financial markets (ideally Equity/Derivatives). The position requires the incumbent to have a broad range of IT skills and be capable of working in an environment that requires flexibility, problem solving, delegation and strong interpersonal skills. This experience will have ideally come from an Application Support/Tradefloor Support/Integration role within Trading - Investment Banks/Hedgefunds/Propriety Trading Companies/Broking etc environments. Responsibilities include: Ownership of local in-house developed Finance applications. Support for Front End applications (for Traders and other users). Test & Deploy in-house and 3rd Party trading software. Co-ordinate with internal software development and infrastructure teams. Liaise with external parties for problem resolutions. Develop the position to become the acknowledged domain expert for local applications. Perform in an environment where multi-tasking, constant problem resolution and on-going risk assessment is the standard. Communicate effectively with the global integration teams to understand, contribute & enhance global best practices and common tools & methods Skills/Qualifications required include: STRONG Linux/Unix Command Skills/System Administration (2yrs+); STRONG Scripting Skills (Primarily Bash moving to Python, some Perl); Good Knowledge of SQL - MYSQL; Knowledge of Networking, IP configuration and trace routing.
